Job Summary:
As a Senior Convention Services Manager, you will serve as the primary liaison between meeting planners and the hotel, representing the company to clients and attendees for high-level and complex multi-day programs. You will build strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction while maximizing profitability for the hotel through strategic sales approaches and yield management techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for meeting planners and clients, fostering trust and providing valuable input throughout the planning process.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with clients and vendors to promote repeat business and enhance the overall event experience.
- Develop menus and pricing recommendations for banquet events, as well as negotiate and hire vendors as necessary.
- Utilize creative problem-solving skills during pre-planning and execution phases to ensure smooth operations.
- Make independent decisions to meet client needs while considering hotel capabilities and operational requirements.
- Lead formal business meetings with clients and hotel department managers, providing clear instructions to all hotel departments.
- Oversee the production of all activities, events, and operations related to conferences, ensuring seamless execution.
- Collaborate with administrative coordinators and assist in their development by involving them in on-site activities.
- Optimize function space and equipment usage for assigned groups to maximize sales and revenue through effective yield management.
- Conduct financial forecasting and projections to support decision-making processes.
- Participate in management meetings, contribute insights on departmental operations, and engage in various projects within Convention Services and other hotel departments.
- Promote internal services such as Design Studio, Audio Visual, Activities & Recreation, Restaurants, and Retail offerings to enhance the overall guest experience.
This role requires a strong blend of relationship management, strategic thinking, operational expertise, and creative problem-solving skills to ensure successful events and drive business growth.
