Job Summary:
As a Senior Manager of Meetings and Special Events, you will serve as the primary liaison between meeting planners and the hotel, representing the company to clients and attendees for high-level and complex multi-day programs. You will build strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction while maximizing profitability for the hotel through strategic sales approaches and yield management techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Represent The Breakers to clients and attendees for high-level and multi-day complex programs
- Build relationships with clients to provide input throughout the planning process
- Implement sales strategies and yield management to meet client needs and hotel profitability
- Cultivate relationships with clients and vendors to drive repeat business
- Assist in menu development and pricing for banquet events
- Negotiate and hire vendors as necessary for programs
- Solve problems creatively in planning and execution stages
- Make independent decisions to meet client needs and hotel capabilities
- Lead meetings with clients and hotel department managers
- Provide instructions to all hotel departments for smooth operations
- Manage all activities, events, and operations related to conferences
- Collaborate with and mentor administrative coordinators
- Optimize function space and equipment use for maximum sales
- Conduct financial forecasting and projections
- Contribute to departmental operations through management meetings and projects
- Promote internal services such as Design Studio, Audio-Visual, Activities & Recreation, and Restaurants
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury market
- Self-motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, even under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and intermediate knowledge of technology and social media platforms
