Job Summary:
The Pastry Chef Brigade position is responsible for creating high-quality pastry, baked goods, and desserts in a fast-paced, team-oriented, professional kitchen. The Pastry Chef Brigade works under the direction of the Executive Chef and is responsible for executing pastry preparation duties, which include receiving and storing food, following standardized recipes, plating, executing banquet events, and safely handling all food items.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare and make all pastry, baked goods, and desserts.
-Follow standardized recipes and measure ingredients to ensure consistency and quality.
-Oversee and manage the pastry team, delegating tasks as necessary.
-Communicate and coordinate with the executive chef and kitchen staff.
-Maintain food safety and HACCP guidelines at all times.
-Receive and store all food items properly and in a timely manner.
-Execute pastry duties for banquet events in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
-3+ years of relevant experience in pastry preparation, including creating pastry, baked goods, and desserts
-Knowledge of and experience with advanced baking techniques
-Ability to execute pastry production in a high-volume kitchen under pressure
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Familiarity with food safety and HACCP guidelines
-Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
